Seeds of Survival – Garden Community Gathering brings together BIPoC and queer communities to explore food sovereignty and community building as pathways towards liberation. Rooted in Black anarchism, queer and trans feminism, and decolonial practices, we come together to build alternatives to oppressive systems by engaging with the earth and with one another. Through gardening, workshops, and shared meals, we literally and metaphorically want to sow seeds for collective futures.

Seeds of Survival – Garden Community Gathering is a space for BIPoC and queer communities to connect, organize, and imagine collective futures, in which we survive, thrive and grow on this earth and beyond. Rooted in Black anarchism, queer and trans feminism, and decolonial practices, we come together to build alternatives to oppressive systems by engaging with the earth and with one another. Rather than remaining in theory, we ground our political visions through hands-on gardening and experimenting future visions in the here and now through community rituals, cooking and shared meals. We want to explore practices that nurture connection, resistance, and renewal. Through workshops, skill-sharing, and conversations, we want to come together to create tools for social transformation and imagine what it means to grow new worlds. The garden becomes both a metaphor and a method—sowing, tending, and preserving what we want to bring into being.

“The destiny of Earthseed is to take root among the stars.”
— Octavia E. Butler, Parable of the Sower
